Bath is easily reached by road, being served by the M4 motorway stretching
between London and Wales; the M5 motorway, which travels between Devon and the Midlands; and the M3 motorway between
the South Coast and London.

The Villa Magdala is lucky to have one of the very few off-street car parks
in Bath for the use of guests, leaving you to relax without the worry of meters or the search for parking spaces!

Allow about 2hr 15min
- From Gatwick take the M23, in the direction of London.
- At Junction 8, leave the M23 and turn onto the M25 Westbound (signed To M3/M4).
- Stay on the M25 until Junction 15, where you should turn onto the M4 Westbound (signed Reading/Swindon/Bristol).
- Now follow directions 'from the M4 Motorway'.
Allow about 1hr 45min
- Follow signs for the M4 motorway, and turn out onto the M4 Westbound (signed Reading/Swindon/Bristol).
- Now follow directions 'from the M4 Motorway'.
- Leave the M3 at Junction 8 (which is after Basingstoke if coming from London), and turn onto the A303.
- Continue on A303 for 28 miles to Stonehenge.
- Turn right onto the A360 passing Stonehenge on the left (Stonehenge car park is on the right).
- Continue on A360 through the village of Shrewton.
- Approximately ¼ mile after leaving Shrewton turn left onto the B390 (signed Chitterne and
Warminster).
- Continue on B390 through Chitterne to junction with A36 and turn right onto the A36 to Bath.
- Take the A36 for 24 miles; as you approach the city start to follow signs for M4 and
A4 Chippenham.
- As you travel down a hill into Bath, keep in the right hand lane and turn right at the traffic lights when you reach the bottom of the hill. The Crown Inn will be on your right hand side.
- Take the second road on your left - Henrietta Road.

- Leave the M4 at Junction 18 onto the A46, towards Bath.
- Proceed south on the A46 and continue all the way into Bath.
- Entering Bath you will pass under a flyover while travelling downhill - at the roundabout take a right, onto the
A4 (London Road) into Bath.
- Proceed along the A4 London Road for nearly a mile.
- At the main traffic lights at the end of the road, turn left, signed A36 Warminster.
- Cross over Cleveland Bridge and the river; then pass the fire/ambulance stations on your left and immediately
take the next right, into Henrietta Road.
- The Villa Magdala is on your right after 200 m (see here for a street map).
- Leave the M5 at Junction 23 onto the A39 (signed Glastonbury, Street, Wells, Bath).
- Proceed all the way to Bath on the A39.
- On entering Bath, start to follow signs for A36 Warminster; this will take you around the south side of
the city.
- Do not cross the river but continue around, following signs for A36 until a roundabout (with
County Hotel on left, church on right) is reached.
- Turn left at roundabout into Vane Street (which turns right and becomes Edward Street after a few metres)
- At end of Edward Street, turn left into Great Pulteney Street.
- Continue to the end, where you will find a stone fountain in Laura Place, and turn right at the roundabout,
into Henrietta Road.
- The Villa Magdala is on your left after 200 m (see here for a street map).
- Leave the M5 at Junction 15, onto the M4 Eastbound towards Bristol, Swindon, Reading, London.
- Now follow directions 'from the M4 Motorway'.
